Rhythm of the Beat: Sound Healing Therapy

Often times when someone hears the word therapy, they envision a doctor sitting

in a chair, listening to all the problems of the world. In fact even the word therapy itself

frightens some. Not everyone is comfortable with revealing their true feelings and

personal life experiences in order to feel emotionally and physically relieved. The good

news is though, that there are alternative ways to heal without talking and it involves the

technique of healing through sound.

Sound healing therapy is widely used to create balance in a sometimes

unbalanced world. This treatment uses the beat and frequencies of instruments to train

our brain waves, which creates a transitional shift from normal consciousness into a

meditative like state. Thus increasing the chances for internal healing. An article titled

What is Sound Therapy, from the College of Sound Healing, writes how the human

body is made of about 70% water. This enables sound to travel smoothly throughout the

entire body. The therapy is very meditative and soothing for both the mind and body.

While in a still place one has the potential to become more aware of every sound

coming in.

Some of the key instruments used for sound healing include: Himalayan singing

bowls, drums and at times a singing voice. These types of sounds are great for our

bodies because they induce a calmness that takes over. Noises like a loud train moving

along its tracks, a repetitive car alarm raging in a crowded parking lot and a cute baby

crying in a line, all can affect our bodies negatively. They directly affect our stress levels

and can lead to an imbalance in the nervous system. When an individual is stressed,

even everyday sounds can become magnified. Feelings of irritability and anxiety may

arise.

Outer stimuli is continuously blocking our thoughts and it may be harmful to us

when trying to maintain harmonization within ourselves. Sound healing therapy can be

rewarding in many ways. A health organization known as Eternal Life Holistic Centre

practices sound healing. In their findings, and many others it has been discovered that it

provides results with sleeping disorders, anxiety, depression, stress management and

much more. Therapy may sound like a frightful word to many, but it doesn’t have to be

anymore. Sound therapy and therapy of any kind can be beneficial for anyone.

Everyone deserves inner peace and with sound treatment, freedom is available.

Overall, the treatment leaves one with a better connection to themselves, and an even

more positive outlook on life. Let the rhythm of the instruments take you away to a

better rhythm of life.

Cellular Health Microscope: Becoming a Better You

When I think of being healthy, I never put much thought into my blood cells. Is it just me, or is there anyone else? It shouldn’t come as surprising though, that everything we eat, drink, and the toxins we inhale daily are directly affecting our blood cells. It wasn’t until I met with Kim, a certified health consultant at Beverly Hills in St. George, that I learned the importance behind health and blood as a whole.
Kim gave me a health evaluation for a few important reasons. For one he wanted to give me the opportunity to really look into my health and to fully grasp the significance behind the evaluation. Secondly, he knew I could better inform our readers about the health evaluation by having my own experience. Kim gently pricked my finger for a partial drop of blood, and yes I promise it was gentle. He then placed my blood sample onto a slide and positioned it on the microscope. We were in Biology class all over again. From there the visual he saw through the microscope, was then displayed onto a T.V. screen. I was informed of how normal blood should appear, and by no means did I witness normal blood. The body is filled with living cells that reinforce and prolong our bodies’ tissues. These living cells consist of red and white blood cells. Red blood cells are very important to one’s health. They work to carry fresh oxygen throughout the body. My red blood cells showcased an unusual shape that results in an iron deficiency. If one doesn’t have enough iron in their body, then the body won’t be able to produce the hemoglobin that helps red blood cells carry oxygen. White blood cells are also very important to one’s health.
Have you ever been really ill, or had an infection? This could be caused by a low number of white blood cells in the body. There could also be a chance that there are too many of the cells in the body. A number of conditions and illnesses could be caused by the different levels of white blood cells. Other factors that could affect the levels result in, extreme stress felt physically and, or emotionally. Also, smoking cigarettes and high amounts of exercise can limit the blood cells. Technology is advancing every day and in ways that it allows individuals to improve their overall health. Whenever I think of being healthy I will now put emphasis on the importance of my blood, because everything we consume and inhale is affecting directing those cells. Foods rich in iron help maintain healthy blood cells, and vitamins are also very effective in building healthy cells. It is important to be aware of what we put into our bodies, especially if we want to ward off sickness, disease and infections. Check with your local doctor, or even come into Beverly Hills, St. George to get a health evaluation today. You may be surprised at how healthy or unhealthy your blood may be, but whatever the results there is always help to become a better you.

Where It All Begins

Welcome to Beverly Hills! The Age Defiance Institute that is. We may not be in 90210, but we are in the heart of Dixie. My name is Alexis Bowler and the purpose of this blog page is to intrigue readers, while also promoting a healthy lifestyle.

So what is the Beverly Hills Age Defiance Institute?

It is an institute here in St. George to help treat several conditions through hyperbaric oxygen therapy. If you became lost at hyperbaric, don’t worry you’re not alone. To some this word may sound foreign, intimidating, or even intriguing. Hyperbaric therapy involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber. The amount of air released in this chamber is increased to three times higher than the average air pressure.

What does this mean?

Stay with me now. We’re getting to the good part. With this amount of air being released into the chamber, blood is now carrying this oxygen throughout your entire body. This helps to fight off bad bacteria, and it invigorates the release of stem cells. Stem cells are referred to as, “an internal repair system” according the website stemcells.nih.gov.  All of this helps the body to heal internally and externally. This kind of therapy is meant to be relaxing. While lying in the chamber anyone can meditate while listening to their own music. The hyperbaric therapy can help treat wounds that simply won’t heal. It is also an effective use for athletes as well, because the chamber is bringing more oxygen to one’s tissues. This promotes a faster recovery for sports related injuries. This therapy can be helpful for a list of reasons ranging from a stroke to someone who is battling with depression.

In the End

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be great for everyone, regardless of one’s health. Remember everyone happiness is as important as health. To feel happy, healthy, and knowledgeable about your body keep coming back to my weekly blogs.
